Perception Story

Perception is the process by which people translate their impressions in a clear,logical and unified view of the world around them. Different people have different perception. One man's meat could be another man's poison.

Three years ago my friend and myself decided to go to the countryside to see how people live there. Since we woke up in the morning we felt very excited as we haven't been to the countryside before.We arrived there around ten o'clock in the morning; we decided to have a walk by the canal and enjoy the fantastic nature. While walking we felt the beauty scene of the greenery throughout the sight. I felt how lucky the people who live there are. As we were walking we saw a young boy staring at us. we went close to the young boy and said hello , we had a quick chat with him and he knew that it is our first visit to the countryside so he invited us to his home.

Since we reached his home, we felt the warmth and generosity of his family, they received us in a wonderful way and insisted that we have lunch with them. We had a long talk with the young boy's nuclear family, they mentioned that their dream is to move to the city and live there for the rest of their life. They wished to live in a prodigious apartment; would like to go to the movies ,visit the pyramids, benefit from all the facilities in the city that they are deprived from in the countryside. On the other hand we told them that they are luckier from us, I told them that they live in the beautiful nature and clear weather, the euphony of the birds and the  beautiful greenery and they breathe clean fresh air. On the contrary we live in the city in a building surrounded with other huge buildings, we breathe polluted air from exhausts coming out of cars and buses. Finally they were convinced by our point of view and thanked God for what they have and then we left them. This story shows us the disparity between people's perception.

Qualities of a good friend

It is very difficult to find a good, true friend that you can trust. A true friend is the one to whom you can tell your deepest secrets knowing that he will never share them with others under any circumstances. A true friend is always there for you to share your happiness and sorrow. True friendship can start suddenly but it takes time to build. It’s hard to describe the true friend’s qualities, as they are enormous and countless.

A really true friend must be loyal, trustworthy, kind and faithful…

Loyalty is a great quality that everybody desires in a good, true friend. A loyal friend never seeks any help from you. He is always around even if you move or change school or job, and he will try his best to stay in touch despite how busy life is.

Trustworthy is another great quality of a true friend. A trustworthy friend will never betray you, you can trust him knowing that he will keep your secrets and will never share them with others.

Kindness is another crucial quality of a good friend. A kind friend cares about you and gives you attention more than anyone else.

Finally faithfulness is another major quality of a true friend. A faithful friend is someone you can trust, have confidence and rely on him. You are always sure that he will be there for you whenever you need him in good and bad times.

In conclusion a true friend is a precious and rare quality that is difficult to find. Anyone can have dozens of friends but only can have one or two true friends. A true friend is like a diamond; he is valuable that’s why if you find him you have to do your best not to loose him under any circumstances. You can find a true friend once in a lifetime. "There is nothing on this earth to be prized more than true friendship."

The Constitution

A constitution is basically a set of laws that defines the rules and the regime of the state. It also regulates the fundamental right of individuals. State rulers cannot cross these laws. It definitely plays a major role in the country because without it chaos will take place.

The first constitution was written in Athens 621 BC, it was named “Draco”, it replaced the oral law by a written code. The laws were particularly severe. For example, any debater whose status was lower than that of his creditor was forced into slavery. The death penalty was the punishment of minor crimes.

On the other hand Egypt has a constitution like all other countries, however, as we all know Egypt is going through a very tough phase right now. Egyptians are confused, there is a very big debate between people right now some say they want to elect a president before writing the constitution, while others want to write the constitution before the presidential elections. 

In my opinion I think we should write a constitution before electing a new president, because as we all know the main problem, before the revolution was that the former president Mubarak tried to change some terms in the constitution to give himself a privilege to allow his son to take his place. On the other hand the previous president Mubarak was changing the constitution on his own way in consequences he ruled the country for over thirty years.

In conclusion I think we should elect a committee to write a constitution first. They also should write two main laws; the first one is that the president is forbidden to change in the constitution without the help of this committee; the second one is that the president should not be elected more then twice every four years.

New year's resolution

A new year's resolution is a promise that one makes to achieve his goals.

Honestly Each new year I promise myself  commitments  that I never achieve, but I think this year is going to be different. I am willing to become a better person, avoid all my bad habits. I also want to study harder and score high grades to be able to fulfil my dream to continue my undergraduate years abroad. Finnaly I wish you a happy new year !

Globalization

         

Globaization is an easy term to define as it simply means the cultural integration between the nations socially, economically and politically.A long time ago, Globalization had taken place in many nations all over the world. Globalization has both it's advantages and disadvantages. 

The advantages of globalization started from old times as it appeared with the rise of the european colonialism during which many nations exchanged slaves from each other which created the spirit of homogeneity between people of different countries on a globe scale especially on cultural level. The appearance of television and radio in old times and recently the appearance of the internet helped the exchange of different cultures between different people. Moreover trading of products and goods which started in China during the second century BCE. and which is still ongoing is another advantage of Globalization.

On the other hand, Globalization has it's disadvantages as due to the immigration that took place between nations, marriage increased between people from different countries with different cultures which created traditional divisions between the societies. Moreover, multinational companies take advantage from the developed  countries as they are accused of using unethical and environmental practices, which make it very difficult for small local companies to compete with them. 

In my opinion, I agree with the article that Globalization has both its advantages and disadvantages. From my personal experience I can see that my country Egypt has benefited and suffered from Globalization. I like fast food and I order delivery on a daily basis ; I always order Mcdonalds and Burger King and I rarely order El Tabei ( A well known Beans ( foul) shop ). On the other hand, Globalization helped Egypt to be connected with the world in all aspects wether politically, environmentally and culturally. It helped to enhance its capabilities to progress and try to compete with other countries in order to be able someday to move from the stage of undeveloped countries to the developed ones.

To sum up, Globalization is a crucial agreement that needs to be applied in all nations in all the world because its advantages are much more then its disadvantages as without it nations will never develop and will live in ignorance.

But the concept of how wealthy nations use their economic power to exert social and ethnical pressure on developing nation remains a topic of debate that needs to be solved quickly !  

  

Christmas and New Year in London

On the 23rd of December, I went with my family to London. it was not my first visit to the capital of England,however I am enjoying it to the extent that i don't want to go back. I was so delighted by the decorations  in the streets of this beautiful country; the Christmas trees are placed at every corner, with baubles and lights. On new year's eve we went to trafalgar square and Big Ben; there were loads of people there. I knew from the television later that people came from all over the world just to enjoy this precious moment. At twelve o'clock, when Big Ben rang, colourful fireworks exploded in the sky for approximately fifteen minutes. I was stunned by these beautiful lights shining at night. For the remaining days we went to the two famous parks, Hyde park and Green park. We also went to the well known place  Leicester square. Although the weather was awful as, it was freezing for me, it was normal for the english people as my british friends declared. On the other hand i went shopping in Oxford, Regent street and in the big mall Westfield (the biggest mall in Europe). I bought a very interesting book from Selfridges's book store for my english assignment. The SleepWalker is a long novel; I have enjoyed reading it and I  learned a lot of english expressions from it. I was astonished by this book, consequently  I have finished all three hundred and twelve pages in just two days. I am still in London, enjoying my final days. Finally i recommend you to visit this GREAT country.
